Look out Trail – Glacier House Resort – Revelstoke

Look out Trail – 1.5 km – 45 minutes – Strenuous hike

  1. Leave the resort to the south, along cabins103 / 104
  2. Walk by the work compound (on your left) and follow main power line road for approximately 100m
  3. Continue along the power lines to the south and hike up the steep trail to the top of the mountain
  4. At the end, enjoy great views of the valley. Return as you came.

Glacier House Resort is known for its winter recreation adventures but if you are visiting before the snow flies, (like I did to enjoy a fabulous wedding anniversary night away) you will be greeted with a number of fantastic hiking options.

First there is the Look out Trail as per the information above plus,

Trapper Trail – a 5 km – 90 minute strenuous hike but worth it

Dam Flat Trails – 3 km’s of easy hiking that give you views of the Revelstoke Dam

Moses Creek Waterfall Trail – a 4 km 90 minute Moderate hike

And finally the Frisby trail where the picture from a Glacier House Resort ad was taken!

Frisby Ridge is an important habitat area for mountain caribou. The Revelstoke Snowmobile Club, Ministry of Environment and the B.C.
