Kelowna Wildfires – Hiking Trail update.

Kelowna area has experienced several wildfires.  I searched for details to pass on to hikers but the advice is simply to stay out of the affected areas until further notice.  Links to Maps of the exact areas where the fires were are listed below. View the fire boundaries via the links below and then view trail maps to see if your favourite trail is affected in any way.  Post any news in comments below if you have info!

Of the three fires, the popular hiking areas that are affected are, McDougall Rim on Mount Hayman above Rose Valley Dam and the Goat’s Peak area in Glenrosa.

Some residential areas are still on evacuation alert. Some residents have had their homes robbed while they were on evacuation. There is still investigations going on that are related to the fires or crimes committed while evacuations were ordered.

Do not go into closed hiking trail areas or areas that are under evacuation.  The fines will be quick and costly!
