Tomahawk – the ultimate backpacking and fire making tool.

Tomahawk!  I was not considering a tomahawk as I went shopping for a light weight hatchet.  After talking to the helpful sales guy at House of Knives in Kelowna and holding the 24 ounce Fusion Tactical Tomahawk by SOG in my hand, I knew it was the perfect backpacking solution.

With a longer handle – 15.75″, side hammer, sharp excavation tool and nylon sheath, I will be looking forward to my next campout.

  1. how did the hawk work out, did it pass all tests?. I have been debating a new peice to my collection and im undecided.

  2. Double Thumbs Up! I always wanted to carry a hatchet on my trips but left them at home because they were too heavy. But this tomahawk is so light weight that I won’t be without it now. Of course it comes with a cover that you can attach to your belt etc.
Whenever I used one of our hatchets on a family camp out I never liked the short handle to do any type of bush work. The 16 inch long handle on the tomahawk made a huge difference. It just falls naturally and is really easy to work with on any bush task.
