Site Description: William Lake is east of the main Turtle Mountain Provincial Park. It is well-known for its stocked waters which have produced great catches of rainbow trout over the years.
You’ll find a swimming and beach area and an amphitheatre for weekend interpretive shows during the summer months. Three boat docks are located around William Lake. A playground and horseshoe pitch add to the day’s fun.
Explore Turtle’s Back Trail on your way to Turtle’s Back summit and a spectacular view of southwestern Manitoba. The summit is the range’s prominent hill which is visible for many miles from the north and east. The trail passes through Turtle Mountain Community Pasture where local livestock roam and graze. Steep elevation near the summit makes this trail a challenging yet rewarding hike.
