  1. Syringa Creek Campground. I have been visiting this campground for 18 years, and each year it gets more difficult. #1, the reservation system in all BC Campsites needs to be eliminated. Back to first come first serve basis. I see many sites available for one or two nights that folks won’t camp in because they would have to move or leave. Syringa is 50% reservable, which creates many empty spots other than on weekends. The overflow camping there is in the day use parking lot, for the same price ($21/night) with no priority consideration on emptying spots in the campground. It looks as if the hosts are actually reserving some sites for people as well, which is horrible. They say it is because there was a mix up in the reservation system, but nobody believes this to be true. Always water sites too, that they reserve. The campground is beautiful – not another one like it – large private sites, pristine clean water, hiking trails, beach. Syringa has it all.

    • Thanks for the information! We campers really appreciate these types of comments and “intel”. I think your right, the BC Campsite reservation system should be eliminated! If we go to a provincial park that is full with no sites available, we just need to find a Forest Recreation site close by or a nice spot on Crown Land. There are many of them in BC.
